History tells us that the carnival is a kind of capsizing of the normal way of life; during the Carnival everyone can transform theirselves, can try to play another role. The Carnival could also be a way to cast their own dresses off together with daily life frustrations.
What is the best place to live the Carnival?
Obviusly S. Eraclio, ”The Town of Carnival”!
"SEMEL IN ANNO LICET INSANIRE"
(Once a year it’s allowed to go mad, Latin proverb)
By the third last Saturday of Carnival to Fat Tuesday our small village becomes a town, “The Town of Carnival”. It remains like that until the Lent force it to become again a village, but only till the next Carnival…
The peak of the celebrations of the Carnival is reached during the three Sundays when the Street Parades take place and the Carnival float (made of paper-pulp) together with hundreds of Masks, musical bands, masked groups populate the streets of S. Eraclio. During the last Sunday an incredible firework display within the magical framework of the village.
Only during the Carnival period it’s open the “Carnival Tavern”, with really good typical dishes and lot of fun.
